Puppy Potty Training Made Easy

A Step-by-Step Guide for a Happy and House-Trained Puppy

Potty training a new puppy is an important step in ensuring a well-behaved and happy companion. Here are some easy steps to get started:

  1. Establish a routine
Puppies thrive on routine, so establish a regular feeding and potty schedule. Take your puppy out first thing in the morning, after eating or drinking, and before bedtime.

  2. Choose a designated potty area
Choose an area outside where you would like your puppy to do their business. Take them to this area consistently and use a command such as “go potty” to help them associate the area with going to the bathroom.

  3. Supervise your puppy
Keep an eye on your puppy at all times, especially when they are inside, so you can take them out as soon as you notice them sniffing or circling, which are signs that they need to go potty.

  4. Reward good behaviour
When your puppy goes potty in the designated area, be sure to give them lots of praise and a treat as a reward. This will help them understand that going potty in the designated area is a good thing.

  5. Be patient
Potty training takes time and patience. Remember to remain calm and consistent in your training efforts, and don’t get frustrated if your puppy has accidents. Accidents are a normal part of the potty training process and should be expected.

  6. Consider crate training
Crate training can be helpful in potty training as it helps to limit the puppy’s access to the house and makes it easier to monitor when they need to go outside.

Finally, remember to be consistent and patient, and your new puppy will be potty trained in no time!
