What you get as a Verified Breeder
What “Verified Breeder” means
When you see the Verified badge on a seller:
- We have confirmed their full name and contact details.
- We have reviewed information about their breeding history and setup.
- We have reviewed any website, social profiles, or references they have shared.
It does not mean:
- We guarantee the health or temperament of any puppy.
- We guarantee that the breeder’s practices meet any specific legal, veterinary, or ethical standard.
- You can skip your own due diligence as a buyer.
Who is the Verified Breeder badge for?
- Hobby breeders who care about transparency and trust.
- Small or family breeders who want to stand out as more established and accountable.
- Rescues or re-homing organizations with ongoing listings.
If you only post a puppy occasionally and don’t want to share additional details, you can still use Getapuppy.ca without being Verified.

How the verification process works
Submit your application
Tell us about your contact details, location, breeding history, and links to your website or social pages.
We review your details
We may ask for clarifications, references, or more details about where puppies are raised.
You receive a decision
If approved, we’ll mark your account as Verified and the badge will appear on your listings.
Your responsibilities as a Verified Breeder
As a Verified Breeder on Getapuppy.ca, you agree to:
- Be honest and accurate in your listings.
- Disclose any known health issues or special needs.
- Provide buyers with basic documentation, such as vet records or vaccination history where applicable.
- Respond to messages in a reasonable time frame.
- Follow any local laws or regulations related to breeding, selling, or re-homing dogs.
We reserve the right to remove the Verified badge or suspend accounts that receive serious or repeated complaints.
