Frequently Asked Questions

🐾 Buying a puppy
The most important thing is to meet the seller in person before you send any money. Ask to see the puppy with its mom, ask for vet records, and never send an e-transfer or deposit to someone you haven’t met. Good breeders are used to questions and won’t mind answering them. If a seller is pushing you to pay fast or won’t let you visit, move on.
Ask about vaccinations, deworming, vet visits, and how old the puppies are (they shouldn’t leave before 8 weeks). It’s also worth asking about the parents’ temperament and how the pups are raised day to day. A good breeder will probably ask you a few questions too, which is actually a positive sign.
Yes and we really do recommend it. Seeing the puppy in person, meeting the breeder, and getting a feel for where the pup was raised tells you a lot. If a seller says no to an in-person visit, that’s a red flag and you should walk away.
Be careful with listings that seem priced way too low, sellers who say they’re out of province and want to ship the puppy to you, and anyone asking to be paid by gift card or wire transfer. Stock-looking photos that don’t match the breed are another warning sign. When in doubt, don’t send money until you’ve seen the puppy in person.

Good photos make a big difference. Use natural light, show the actual puppies (not stock images), and take a few shots. Write a solid description covering the age, breed, vaccinations, and what’s included in the price. And reply to messages quickly since buyers usually go with whoever gets back to them first.
